The 3.4-mile, 20-turn road course will be open to bikers of all ages and levels from 7 p.m. to dark tomorrow evening, approximately 9 p.m. It is not a competitive race, rather a free-form ride at each individual’s own pace.
The event gives riders a chance to take on the Turn 1 monster, one of the steepest climbs in motorsports. There is an alternate, flatter route available to novice riders as well as a kids course.
The cycling series, sponsored by SRAM, will return Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Registration is $15 for early online booking, $20 onsite at COTA. Early online booking will close at 10 p.m. Monday (today).
The picnic and cafeteria area at the track also will be open from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. along with the beer garden. To participate, riders must register online at www.thecircuit.com/bike or on site at COTA.
The weather forecast for Tuesday evening is temperatures in the upper 80s with a 20 percent chance of rain.
